Gathering: Sip & Seek Floral Beauty

As we head into Mother's Day weekend, treat yourself (and maybe mom too!) to an hour in the company of floral-loving kindred spirits as we reawaken our ability to see the beauty around us. We'll welcome in the weekend by sipping our elderflower cordial & go on individual treasure hunts to seek out the beauty we're drawn to (in the books, fabric, and flowers throughout the shop.) We'll record our finds and reflections in our journals (provided - your choice of one of our hardbound journals featuring our original floral designs) and then come back to share with the group what moved us and why. Join us to kickstart a daily practice you can continue throughout the year.

Gathering: CreatingAI Art Together

Curious about AI art? Come join us as we create gorgeous floral AI art in community and then post our favorites to our shared Instagram handle @bouquetsbydalleandwe. In class, we each dream up our own text prompts, riffing on the monthly 4-word minimum required prompt (i.e. in April, it was "tulip, bouquet, chintz, vintage"). Join us in May and help us teach the AI algorithms that humans seek floral beauty & joy! No experience or tools necessary, and you'll leave knowing all you need to continue to experiment with AI art on your own.
Class fee: Free; group meets monthly, but attend any or all!
Class: Paint Your Own Watercolor Bouquet

Come immerse yourself in floral beauty and spend a relaxing hour among kindred floral spirits creating your own watercolor bouquet still life. We'll have live flower models from the Sew & Bloom garden and you'll compose your own watercolor bouquet based on your favorite blooms and the color palette you'd prefer in your final piece. You'll leave impressed with the beauty you were able to create in a short time and ready to continue carving out time in your life for creativity and floral joy.

Join us as we discuss how to build a daily meditative practice of visual garden journaling. We'll discuss the health benefits of noticing, recording, and celebrating ever-changing garden beauty, and then cover the various techniques for capturing ephemeral floral beauty (baskets, bouquets, flat lays, floral-close ups, and garden views). Open to beginner and experienced gardeners alike.

Class: Learn How to Design Your Own Cushions

In this class, I'll share all you need to know to get started creating your own patterns that can be showcased on cushions, wallpaper, or other home decor pieces. I'll cover the the key tips I've learned over the last 8 years as a self-taught surface pattern designer (pattern design how-tos, equipment, apps, product manufacturers, etc.) as well as answer any questions you have. You'll leave with everything you need to know to get started making your own designs and creations. No prerequisites or equipment needed.

Class: Unlocking Creativity with Fast Painting

We're bringing this class back because everyone loves it! Come unlock your creativity with one of our favorite freeing exercises - fast painting! We'll spend the first 45 minutes of class learning botanical techniques and practicing and then we'll set the timer for 10 minutes and see what masterpieces we can create when we spend less time worrying about perfection! Come experience the most wonderful exercise for freeing your mind from limiting self-talk ("I'm bad at art!") and surprise yourself with the beauty you're able to bring into being!

Class: Midsummer Dreaming with Botanical Lanterns

Bring your own midsummer dream to life with our pressed floral botanical lanterns workshop. Our class table will be adorned with gorgeous pressed floral petals and each attendee will be able to pick their favorites and then arrange them as their intuition guides to bring their own beautiful lantern into being. Come spend a dreamlike hour in the company of floral-loving kindred spirits and leave with your very own keepsake pressed floral art. Completed lanterns last throughout the year and are a magical twinkling way to bring botanical beauty into your home.
Class fee: $40, includes flameless votive candle
Or, Design Your Own Private Class Tailored to Your Individual Interests or Group Preferences
We also work with individuals and/or groups to design a class tailored to your preferences (on anything from botanical watercolor painting to surface pattern design to AI art.) Dedicate an hour to a one-on-one session to learn something new or plan a joyful, flower-filled celebration with your chosen group (friends, family, or co-workers).
